COMM2P91: Evaluation Breakdown 2003

 
Written  Assignments: Two (2) short written assignments on topics that will relate to class readings and enhance class discussion.

Assignment #1 due Friday February 14
Assignment #2 due Friday March 7

30% Assignments will be posted on WebCT  and may be submitted on WebCT, to my spartan e-mail account or in hard copy to my office (A239).  NOTE:  Any assignment or examination or project mailed to my spartan account MUST use the subject line COMM2P91: Assignment #n
2 Sets of Class Minutes: To be e-mailed to the instructor who will post them on WebCT.  Minutes must be received by the instructor no later than 1 week after the class for which the notes were taken.

Participation: Contribution to class discussion; demonstration of having prepared the readings for class.  NOTE : Not all learning takes place in the classroom.  If you have difficulty speaking in front of a class, you may discuss topics with me in my office, or wherever you happen to meet me on campus in order to meet this requirement.  Participation may also be met by contributing to Virtual Office Hours on WebCT Chat at the appointed time.

Contribution to class discussion may also be fulfilled by posting to the discussion threads in the WebCT discussion forum.
REMEMBER: The WebCT discussions are  a student forum, for you and your colleagues to exchange ideas and to challenge each other.
Hypertext Project:  Construct a piece of hypertext (fiction or non-fiction) and compare it to the same writing in a linear format.

DUE DATE: Monday March 31, 2002

Take (at least 2 pages or so of ) your favourite prose/poetry (or a piece of your original writing) and re-construct it as a hypertext.  You may use links to text, graphics, audio clips, video.  THEN, write a 2-4 page analysis of why and how the hypertext differs from the text (e.g. from reader perspective, author's perspective, narrator's perspective)
