First we convert the ten minutes into seconds.
Since there are sixty (60) seconds to the minute, we get :
10 minutes x 60 seconds per minute = 600 seconds
Mathise gave us the information that a lock will fill or empty 90
000 cubic metres of water in those 600 seconds. So we will divide the
amount of water moved by the time, to get the rate of flow in cubic metres
per second.
90 000 m3 / 600 seconds = 150
m3 per second
