Visiting Artists

The Department of Music invites distinguished scholars and composers to present and discuss their work. Recent visitors have included Dr. Paul Rice (musicologist), Michael Baker (artistic director, Array Music), Dr. Eric Street (pianist), Tamara Berstein (music critic), Dr. Peter Koprowski (composer), and Christopher Donison (music director, Shaw Festival).

The Department of Music sponsors an evening concert series in cooperation with the Centre for the Arts featuring distinguished artists such as the Amici Ensemble, Quartetto Gelato, Beverly Johnston, Valerie Tryon, the Aeolian Winds, Robert Silverman, and the world-renowned sitarist Irshad Khan.

A Canada Council grant is enabling the Visual Arts program in the Department of Film Studies, Dramatic and Visual Arts to bring three noted artists to the region this year: Alex Colville, Eric Cameron and Irene Whittome. This year's Visiting Artist is Jean Bridge. A Toronto area artist, Jean has exhibited widely, most recently in The Gallery at Brock. She has introduced a new area of study, computer design/art, to the program.
