CORRECT
Plato is on the left and Aristotle on the right. Some clues:
- Plato is the older man. He was Aristotle's teacher, and founder of
the School of Athens, known as the Academy. Plato therefore has white hair
and is balding. The younger Aristotle (his student) has a full head of
dark hair.
- Plato carries one of his dialogues, the Timaeus.
His younger companion carries one of the 2 works of Aristotelean ethics
(the Nicomachean Ethics or the Eudemian Ethics).
- Plato points with his finger toward heaven (which was, for him, the
realm of greatest reality, where our souls originated and where we
contemplated the pure Forms before being born into our bodies). Aristotle
spreads his hand toward the earth (since his surviving works cover not
just philosophical topics, but all the known sciences of his day).
