Welland Canal Math Trail
The Welland Canal is
a remarkable feat of engineering. It is a section of the St. Lawrence
Seaway that allows ships to travel all the way from the Atlantic Ocean to
the Great Lakes of North America. Through its system of locks, the
Welland Canal, raises ships about 100 metres from the waters of Lake
Ontario to the waters of lake Erie. Just imagine taking a huge ocean
freighter up Niagara Falls! That is what the Welland Canal does.
